The material in this selection generally has figure that isn't as vibrant as the material you see in the individual listings. It can be light in some areas and stronger in others or sporadically spread across the board.
The material is graded as 90/70 Cherry which means at least 90% of one face is covered in red heartwood and at least 70% of the second face is covered in red heartwood. There may also be things like mineral streaks, small gum pockets, minor wane, small bark inclusions, etc that are common occurrences in cherry lumber. Every effort will be made to minimize these types of things but one or both faces may have some combination of them present although for the most part, this is really clean lumber. I will guarantee that you will not receive junk material full of defects that you can't use. If it isn't something that I would expect to receive you won't receive it either.
The material is sold in random widths with the narrowest board width being 5 7/8" wide and the widest is around 10" wide. Most of the material is in the 6" to 8" wide range. Orders placed can expect to receive boards that vary in width between those two widths.
All of the boards are either 9 or 10 feet in length and will need to be cut to 95" or less in order to ship. There is a box at checkout where you can provide cutting instructions or order notes.
This material is full thickness of 1"+ and in the rough state as it comes from the saw mill. The example picture in this listing shows some of the material that has been surfaced so you can get an idea of the figure present in the material. If you would like your order to be surfaced and/or straight-lined I can provide that service as well at additional cost.
Lastly, the material is sold by the board foot so the number that you enter to be placed in your cart is the amount of board footage you can expect to receive. Orders can be rounded up or rounded down by a few board feet depending on how the boards are tallied. Meaning if you order 12 board feet and the two boards I select come to 14 board feet the customer would pay for the additional two feet. I'm not going to cut one of the boards to a shorter length and have off-cuts left over to meet your footage requirements.
