Resawing Ordered Material
Resawing is an
option that we offer for material ordered from our store. We would be
glad to resaw and book match any material that is ordered but we do
reserve the right to decline the service depending on the thickness and
species of wood. Due to the internal pressures in curly maple it is not
uncommon for resawed material to bow, cup or twist (or all three!)
after the wood has been resawed which at times makes it difficult to
reflatten thin material. In general, the longer or wider the piece is the more it is prone to bow or cup which can be difficult to reflatten and still have a usable piece when finished. As part of the service we will also resurface
both pieces to make them flat and parallel again. The price indicated
above
is the minimum charge for any custom Resawing. Additional cost,
depending on the extent of work required, can be added onto the minimum
charge depending on the scope and difficulty of your project. You can
add additional instruction in the "Cutting Instructions" box during the
checkout process.
