Heartwood two face, surfaced two face and very nicely figured. There is a 1" knot 16" from one end of both faces that shows on the second face as a 3/8" bark inclusion. There is 11" of wane along one edge of the pictured face at the end of the board that reduces the usable width to 8 1/2".
