There is a 14" long by 1" wide spike of heartwood at one end of the second face. Surfaced two face with very nice eye coverage. There is a 1" bark inclusion 12 1/2" from one end of both faces as well as 14" of wane along one edge of the pictured face at the end of the board that reduces the usable width to 11 1/2" at the narrowest point.
