Log Jamb At Curwensville, PA - 1910
This type of problem happened often when using water to navigate the logs to the mills, especially in the winter when waters would freeze up. Many times they would have to use dynamite to break up the bottle-neck and get things moving again! I guess the gentleman standing in the midst of the problem is wondering where do we go from here???

Carved Wooden Plaques

I have spent many hours doing wood carving and for a couple years made my living doing it. My father in law was a master wood carver from whom I learned many things. He did it all his working life until he died at age 86. To be a good wood carver is something you cannot be taught. It is a God given talent that you are born to do well. You can be taught techniques but never the talent to do it.

The wood carvings that you see here are not hand done but are machine carved by a very specialized carving machine otherwise the cost of the carving would be prohibited for most people. The carving quality is excellent and clean and the depth of the carving is approximately 0.375" to 0.450". Carvings range from unique items such as frames, to mount special items for display, to just about anything you can imagine. The item that is pictured is the item that you will be getting. If you see an item that you would like to be made in a larger size please email or call me and I will see what I can do to accommodate your needs. All items, unless they are advertised differently, are left unfinished. That is to say, they are not stained or spray finished because you may want to do this to please your taste.
