The material in this selection generally has figure that isn't as vibrant as the material you see in the individual listings. It can be light in some areas and stronger in others or sporadically spread across the board.

The material is guaranteed to be sapwood one face and the majority of what I have available is sapwood two face but there may be heartwood present on the second face of the board. There may also be things like mineral streaks, worm holes, minor wane, small bark inclusions, etc that are common occurrences in maple lumber. Every effort will be made to minimize these types of things but one or both faces may have some combination of them present. I will guarantee that you will not receive junk material full of defects that you can't use. If it isn't something that I would expect to receive you won't receive it either.

The material is sold in random widths with the narrowest board width being 6" wide and the widest is around 10" wide. Orders placed can expect to receive boards that vary in width between those two widths.

Most of the boards are 8 to 10 feet in length but there are also some 6 and 7 foot long boards as well.

The majority of the material is full thickness of 1 1/4"+ and in the rough state as it comes from the saw mill however there is some that is rough surfaced to 1 3/16" and you can expect to receive some of both in an order. The example picture in this listing shows some of the rough surfaced material. If you would like it to be surfaced and/or straight-lined I can provide that service as well at additional cost.

Lastly, the material is sold by the board foot so the number that you enter to be placed in your cart is the amount of board footage you can expect to receive. Orders can be rounded up or rounded down by a few board feet depending on how the boards are tallied. Meaning if you order 12 board feet and the two boards I select come to 14 board feet the customer would pay for the additional two feet. I'm not going to cut one of the boards to a shorter length and have off-cuts left over to meet your footage requirements.
