At this time the special grades of material such as the Private Stock, Luthier, Odds & Ends and Selected material is being surfaced jointed on one face to straighten the face using a spiral headed jointer and then thickness dimensioned by surfacing the opposite face running it through a spiral head planer. This insures a straight product with no tear out. All of the other remaining material is generally hit and miss surfaced on both faces at 15/16" thickness.
Most of our stock is in 8',10' and 12 foot lengths. Check out shipping restrictions using FedEx as the carrier. If you purchase a length of lumber and you authorize us to cut the lumber to conform to FedEx shipping guidelines and later decide that you want to return the lumber no credit will be allowed for lengths smaller than 6 foot long.
If you require the very best of figured material please check out our Private Stock listings otherwise you may order out of our regular stock items. Don't forget to check out our Luthier and Odds & Ends pages also. There is never a minimum purchase required.
There will be a 20% restocking fee on orders that match the following situations: 1) Where we have to go on the market to purchase a requested special grade or species of material for a customer and the material is gathered in good faith only to be canceled before the material is shipped. The customer will be told, at the time of the order, that his order is a special order and will be asked for a 20% deposit via his credit card number or check . 2) When returning lumber or a lumber product and it has not been returned within 14 days of the customer receiving date. If there are any question concerning the above, please contact us for clarification.
All lumber is guaranteed to be of furniture maker's quality. Lumber is custom selected 1Com and Btr lumber grade with the majority being Fas lumber grade...the best available. You have the assurance of a money back guarantee on all lumber or lumber product sales providing they are retuned to us within 14 days and the material has not been altered in any way. Shipping charges cannot be refunded. Please call us if there is any problem before you surface or alter the material in any manner. If material is surfaced or altered and you did not call us first explaining the problem so we can resolve the issue, we will not accept it back for a refund.
I wish we could send digital pictures for all your inquires and prospective purchases but it is simply impossible to do this before the order is placed because of the very considerable amount of time required to do so. In order to place your order we need all shipping, billing address information and payment info. Normally this is done through a telephone call at which time I will give you an approximate price for the material you are requesting. This service is just another way of saying that we appreciate your business and want to make your wood purchase experience as pleasant and satisfactory as possible. Obviously there is no commitment required to buy any material with your providing the required info and the sending of the jpgs. At close to 70 years old I don't need to go on any "wild goose chases" as my time is getting short and I have to make it count. Thank you for your consideration.
